Image Resolution is the number of the pixels in your image that will fit per every inch of your paper when printing. A low resolution image will reult in a blurry picture when printed and it won't be a high quality picture. Pixel dimension is the number of pixels that can fit in your picture according to it's width and hieght.

PPI is the amount of pixels per inch and this value should be high if you are looking for a high quality picture. The document size is usually right above the number of PPI and that is where you can manipulate that value.
